Sharm El Sheikh

It's hard to believe that about just 15 years ago Sharm El Sheikh was a small fishing village untouched by tourism. However today the resort is the most popular on the Red Sea coast. Offering an abundance of 4 and 5 star luxury hotels, low cost airlines such as easyjet flying there daily, not to mention all year round sunshine, it's hardly suprising that British tourists visiting the resort is ever increasing.

Naama Bay is perhaps the most well known and most commercialised area in Sharm. Home to Pacha and the Minsitry of Sound nightclubs aswell as several casinos open until the early hours, including one at the fantastic Maritim Jolie Ville Resort. Naama Bay comes alive at night and amongst the many brightly lit bars, clubs and souvenir shops, traditional Bedouin style cafes and shops selling local handicrafts and exotic spices offer a taste of traditional Egypt.

Nabq Bay, about 12km from the airport is also a pretty busy area complete with bars, restaurants, shops and TGI Fridays. Ras Um Sid is particularly good for those who enjoy snorkelling and diving being close to the Ras Mohammed Marine Park and dive sites such as Shark Reef and the Yolanda Reef. Sharks Bay is the newest area, located close to the airport and now has some great hotels and a beautiful sandy beach.

So whether it's 1 or 2 weeks relaxing in the sun or some of the worlds best diving, offering year round sunshine and fantastic hotels from bed and breakfast at The Royal Savoy to All Inclusive at the Sultan Gardens, Sharm El Sheikh has something to offer everyone.
